College of Agricultural Development and Human EcologyThe College welcomes you to FUNATO where the dreams of an all round agricultural development for the nation is being realised through total value chain inclusion and enhancement. The college harnesses potentials of practitioners, transforming these into combination of skills that facilitate delivery of healthy production systems for community members. Agriculture is converted to simple and interesting activities that are rewarding as well as anchoring beneficial livelihoods.
The array of programmes in the College are focused on transforming existing perceptions, knowledges and skills about agriculture to new heights that harness technology and tools which neutralize drudgeries and promote sustainable practices with a blend of health, environment and policy concerns, thereby elevating programmes to livelihood activities.
With a blend of well designed interactions, outreach engagements and field activities facilitated by modern tools and approaches, our academic programmes promise to impact visions and skills that will eventually produce entrepreneurs and value chain actors capable of rising to the demands of food, agriculture and national development. The Departments are designed to work synergistically in molding the next generation of value chain actors that will fly the flags of the various aims of respective Department. The College is a turning point in Agricultural Development for the state, nation and continent.

He is very well known in Ile-Ogbo in Osun State, Ipole-Iloro in Ekiti State, Imini in Oyo State, and Coastline communities of Ghana (studying environmental impact) where he has been particularly active in research and development.
His research insights revealed the lack of involvement of the grassroot in policy development leading to weak adoption and unrealizable goals, thus he developed interest in policy engagement and stakeholder inclusion in the policy process. He is a co-Principal Investigator at Innovation Lab for Policy Leadership in Agriculture and Food Security (www.pilafui.org), an organisation that connects value chain stakeholders with policy makers and initiates policy processes. He is also a member of the Board of African Network of Agricultural Policy Institutes which is headquartered in Zambia.
Prof. Adekoya has always believed, from his early days, on the need to utilize the internet for reaching farmers and he described this in one of his numerous publications titled "Cyber Extension". He worked with IITA to establish farmers' working groups in Ago-Are and Tede areas whereby farmers were trained to access the internet through web services sited in Ago-Are town hall. Farmers were able to communicate with a help desk in IITA on farm challenges, input prices and product marketing.
Professor Adekoya has supervised 19 Ph.D graduates, some already professors, and many graduate and post graduate students.
